At age ten, Riley Lambert watched helplessly as her sister was abducted from her bedroom. Fifteen years later, she’s channeled the pain of her past into a career as an FBI profiler. Riley devotes her life to bringing violent criminals to justice…and secretly uses government resources to search for her sister, who was never found.
When Riley gets a call from the only man who’s ever swept her off her feet with a killer two-step and dangerous smile—ex-Navy SEAL Thayne Blackwood of Singing River, Wyoming—it stirs up dark memories. Thayne’s sister, Cheyenne, has been kidnapped. There are no leads, and the only witness is the victim’s Alzheimer’s-afflicted grandmother.
Desperate to find Cheyenne, Thayne needs Riley’s expertise. With time running short, they delve into dangerous small-town secrets while fighting against an increasingly ruthless adversary. But when her past and his present collide in a shocking revelation, can they overcome the secrets that have kept them apart?

While reading this book I kind of felt like I was binge watching a TV show where I was already too emotionally involved in the characters. Every night I would say "Okay, just one more chapter" and then after that chapter it would be one more. All of the characters are wonderfully developed and it's very easy to really like more than just the two main characters. I had a hard time putting this book down because I just had to know how it ended and the ending of the book had me in tears. I always find it hard to review a book without spoilers but I want to write something that people can read without revealing too much about the book itself. I look forward to reading more from this author.I received this book as a free kindle giveaway on goodreads.

Forgotten Secrets Singing River Book 1 edition by Robin Perini Romance eBooks Reviews
Robin Perini has written one of the best mysteries I've read in a long time (and I reads hundreds of books each year).
FBI profiler Riley and Deputy Sheriff Thane search for a missing doctor, Thane's sister! As time drags on the clues slowly emerge but seem to lead nowhere. This complex storyline shows how a close family and small towns rally to help one of their own!
As the threads of the multifacited plot weave together, the enormity of the problem grows exponentially! This fast paced tale is heartwrenching and drives the reader to binge toward the remarkable conclusion! This amazing novel also presents a thoughtful and tender examination of Alzheimers, and it's impact on family members. It's insightful and uplifting!
Forgotten secrets is a outstanding book and well worth your time! I think this one is special! 5 1/2 stars!
I truly enjoyed reading this mystery. Even though it contains kidnapping and abuse, it didn't go into too much detail, so I was not too uncomfortable. I wanted Riley to find the missing children before something bad happened, so that made me read faster and faster. I enjoyed watching Riley grow emotionally as the story progressed, and falling in love. Just so you know, you wont be disappointed by the ending.
I have been anxiously awaiting the next book in the Montgomery Justice series. During one of my many checks to see if the book was out yet, I found Forgotten Secrets. This book was incredible and very hard to put down before finishing. The author tackled several difficult topics with tremendous skill the trauma of kidnapping, identifying with other victims, parents being engaged and aware of the people in their childs' life, parents showing favoritism for one child over another (and what it does to the unloved child), Alzheimer's (where Ms. Perinis' personal experience came out), PTSD, problems with timely and knowledgeable intervention for veterans, lack of medical help in remote areas, and any others I may not have mentioned. I was glad to be given a happy ending........as we all know, in a real-life scenario, the ending would most likely have been different. Ms. Perini did a great job of creating potential for a whole series with the secondary characters in this book. I am eagerly awaiting the next book!
I lost my Dad to Alzheimer's 22 years go almost to this day I finished reading this book. The book was a sweet love story wrapped around an intriguing mystery. I loved how the story included the struggle of Alzheimer's for the afflicted and her family and friends. The look on my Dad's face whenever I walked into room will always be with me.the way the Blackwood family.responded to the confusion was perfect and I wish everyone with a loved one afflicted with that terrible disease could read your book and be able to accept and embrace their loved one as shown in this story. Alzheimer's is the only disease I know where you lose your loved one twice. You can teach and guide a child along the path and the child will remember. You cannot teach an Alzheimer's victim you can only hold on to their hand and walk with them. A must read book!

This isn't the type of story I typically read (I normally stick very closely to HEA love stories; emphasis on the love), however, this one just sounded too intriguing to pass up. I was reminded quite quickly, however, why I normally do not read these types of stories they cause me too much anxiety. While every story (well every good story) holds a bit of mystery, the "Mystery/Suspense" tales are just too much for me, lol. So many times I almost skipped to the end of the book because I was just so wound up with all the convoluted moves each page seem to bring that I just almost couldn't take it. Even the more obvious/expected points (and believe me, there were many more that were not obvious) pulled all the right strings. I was annoyed and stressed and really impressed.
Loved, loved, loved it! The plot was tight and engaging, and the characters complex and well-developed. This was a masterfully crafted suspense novel with the just right amount of romance and optimism. Where it usually takes a few weeks for me to finish a book (crazy busy life), I started Forgotten Secrets a few days ago and ... my weekend chores will be waiting for me next weekend. Forgotten Secrets is a fabulous weekend getaway!
I loved this book and even cried during the end which I rarely do but was so involved with the characters and living through their emotions that I got drawn into all the drama...I haven't read any of this author's books but am going to check out any others to read. I couldn't put this book down until I finished and found out what really happened to everyone. Really enjoyed this book and the way the characters interacted with each other. Perfect Drama and Suspense and Mystery right up to the end.
